Stem rot and Scleortinia blight

Stem rot protection is needed starting at about 60 DAP through late August. Be sure to include a stem rot fungicide along with your leaf spot control program during this period.

Cool, wet weather is expected within the next few days. These conditions are highly favorable for Sclerotinia blight, especially once rows begin to close. Follow Sclerotinia blight advisories and be ready to apply a fungicide to control Sclerotinia blight in fields with a history of disease.

Fields with a history of Sclerotinia blight should be scouted weekly. Pull vines apart in the early morning and look for fluffy white fungus growth on pegs, stems, or leaves. Sclerotinia blight tends to be very patchy so check several sites across the field when scouting.
